GVA has been instructed by Fixed Charge Receivers to bring a rare development opportunity in Heaton Chapel to market.

The cleared site extends to 0.6 acres and is situated to the rear of the former Tesco Metro site on the A6 (Wellington Road North) in the popular Stockport suburb.

The site has benefitted from planning permission in the recent past for 10 three and four bed houses but permission has since lapsed.

Chris Walker, Associate Director of GVA’s Restructuring and Recoveries team in Manchester said: “The site off Meadows Road is an exciting and rare opportunity to deliver something interesting in an area where there is high demand for good quality housing at a time when there are relatively few suitable sites available.

"We anticipate most interest will be from house-builders, however the site may also be suitable for alternative uses subject to obtaining the necessary consents.

"Opportunities like the Meadows Road site seldom come to market. The pressure of Local Authority housing targets and a lack of suitable sites means this is a fantastic opportunity to build a quality scheme in a high demand area."

Heaton Chapel is a popular location close to Manchester and Stockport with good access to the M60. Heaton Chapel railway station is within walking distance of the site and a variety of independent bars, restaurants and the recently refurbished boutique Savoy Cinema are located nearby in Heaton Moor, approximately half a mile from the site.

GVA is inviting offers in the region of £800,000.
